Conor Benn faces a big step forward in the competition when he takes on Chris Algieri tonight at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena with a fight card which also takes place in New York.

Undefeated Benn seeks the 20th victory of his professional career when he faces veteran Algieri in a 10-round contest for Benn’s WBA Continental welterweight title.

Algieri has only fought once in the past two years, winning a decision over Mikkel LesPierre in August.

Also on the Liverpool card, Katie Taylor defends her lightweight titles against Firuza Sharipova, who has been unbeaten for more than five years.

Meanwhile at Madison Square Garden, Vasyl Lomachenko is looking to continue his winning form against Richard Commey.
