Canelo Alvarez slams his rivals for wanting a ‘payday’ and urges them to ‘fight on’ as he vows to face the winner

CANELO ALVAREZ has slammed his rivals for waiting a ‘payday’ against him – as he urged them all to ‘fight against each other’.

The Mexican superstar is the most in-demand boxer in the world, but recently signed to face Dmitry Bivol on May 7.

A trilogy fight against bitter rival Gennady Golovkin is then set to follow in September if he defeats the Russian light heavyweight champion.

That leaves the likes of Jermall Charlo, 31, David Benavidez, 25, Demetrius Andrade, 34, and others missing out on Canelo‘s draw.

But the man himself gave those around him an idea on how to get his attention.

Canelo, 31, said DAZN“I’m busy this year. I know they want that payday, but I really don’t understand why they aren’t fighting.

“Fight you and then I’ll fight the winner of all – I don’t care.”

Free agent Canelo has been offered a two-fight deal by Premier Boxing Champions Al Haymon to fight undefeated duo Charlo and Benavidez.

But he instead chose Eddie Hearn’s proposal that starts with Bivol, 31, for the WBA title, then a trilogy fight with Golovkin, 39.

GGG must also first beat Ryota Murata, 36, at a middleweight unification on April 9 in Japan.

But the Kazakh verbally agreed to renew his rivalry later in the year with Canelo, who admitted the bad blood was real.

He said, “Yeah. He talks a lot of shit. He talked about a lot of things, but we’ll see.

“First of all, okay, we have to win on May 7. I’m 100% focused on this fight.

“It’s not an easy fight, it’s a tough fight for me, 100% on this fight and then we’ll talk about this fight.”
