Dmitry Bivol reveals how he will beat Canelo Alvarez on May 7

By Jim Calfa: Dmitry Bivol says he already knows how to beat Canelo Alvarez ahead of their May 7 fight at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Bivol believes he will win as long as he sticks to his game plan and sticks to it.

Undefeated WBA light heavyweight champion Bivol (19-0, 11 KOs) looked at “Face of Boxing” Canelo’s past fights, and he came up with the game plan to mix punches, pressure and hindsight for the fight. prevent him from having a target stop to charge on his shots.

If you look at Canelo‘s recent opponents, they all crumbled after standing in front of him, making it easier to hit them with his huge power shots.

Bivol, 31, isn’t going to make it easy for Canelo by standing in one spot, letting him step up and play with his best shots.

Canelo’s last opponent, Caleb Plant, performed well with the game plan his team had for him last November. What held Plant back from winning the fight was his stamina letting him down in the championship rounds.

Plant (21-1, 12 KOs) probably would have won a unanimous decision had the fight been an eight rounder, but unfortunately his stamina let him down.

Canelo took advantage of Plant once he passed out, which he did to Billy Joe Saunders, Callum Smith, Sergey Kovalev and Danny Jacobs.

Kovalev advises Bivol

“He told me not to train too much, not to spend so much time in the gym,” Bivol told DAZN on what Kovalev told him about how to beat Alvarez. (Canelo) He’s just a man, a boxer.

“It is nothing more. He told me to consider him as just another opponent. Nothing more,” Bivol said on the show.

I just gotta do my job, do what I do best, said Bivol on what he needs to do to defeat Canelo on May 7.

“Good jab, good movement, and sometimes more pressure, sometimes backing up. all i know how to do. If I do it well I will win, I think so,” Bivol said.

“It’s a bit different, but some people believe in Canelo in Russia,” Bivol said last Saturday night at the USC Galen Center in Los Angeles. He was told that many Mexican boxing fans wanted him to beat Alvarez on May 7.

Interestingly, Bivol gets so much support from American fans for his fight against Canelo, considering he’s not as famous as him.

This suggests that some fans are tired of seeing the same old Canelo face, and they want to see new blood.

It doesn’t help that Canelo hasn’t fought the opposition American boxing fans have wanted him to face for the past four years.

Canelo didn’t win any fans by choosing to fight Billy Joe Saunders, Caleb Plant, Rocky Fielding, Avni Yildirim and Callum Smith instead of David Benavidez and Jermall Charlo.
