Eddie Hall reacts to Thor Bjornsson’s loss

Eddie Hall admitted he was still struggling with his injured left arm before being defeated by bitter rival Thor Bjornsson earlier this month.

The British star suffered a loose bicep last year which initially postponed their scheduled clash until March this year. Hall was visibly struggling with his left arm during their clash where he ultimately fell to a unanimous decision loss.

Hall has now broken his silence for the first time since the devastating loss and praised Bjornsson offering his respect. “The commentator mentions at some point if there’s something wrong with my left arm and I can only be honest and say yes there was,” Hall said on his YouTube channel. “I fucked my biceps seven months ago and since then I haven’t been able to use my left arm. I’m not looking for excuses, I’m just saying that’s how it is.

“It’s time for me to eat some humble pie and address a few points. First of all I want to say a huge congratulations to Thor; congratulations for the fight. I want to take this opportunity to say how great you are a strong man – or were – and to appreciate you as a man and for the things you have done.

“At the end of the day you are a phenomenon, a giant among us, you are special and you want to leave a mark and inspire your offspring. Thor, well done for the boxing match, you certainly used better tactics. I guess my downfall was, i saw it as a fight and i wanted a fight i just wanted to smash you in the face and that was my downfall.

Hall was forced to undergo surgery to repair the damage he suffered last year, but has repeatedly vowed he is ready to settle his grudge with Bjornsson. However, he ultimately failed after being sent to the canvas twice despite getting off to a positive start.

Eddie Hall was let go twice by Thor Bjornsson

A heated buildup set the precedent for the strongman’s clash with the dueling pair during the week with Bjornsson throwing a can of energy drink at his rival, before Hall knocked down a table in the final showdown . However, the most prevalent story during their exchange of verbal blows was Bjornsson’s accusation that Hall cheated to win the 2017 World’s Strongest Man.

The British star has now vowed to bury the hatchet when it comes to strongman competition and he believes a boxing bout has now solved their problems. “It’s time for us to move on after what happened at World’s Strongest Man in 2017,” he continued.

“I understand why Thor did what he did and why he said what he said. Nothing will ever change that, he will always have the perception that he was robbed in 2017. I wanted to punch that man in my face for a long time and I had this chance and I think it helped me sort things out.”
