“It’s a huge opportunity for me. Ruben Torres is very talented, but so am I and I’m going to show everyone that I’m the fighter to watch. I believe I have the style to be victorious against Torres and the world will see my talent this Friday. I’m going to make this fight a war.

On what a victory will do for his career.

“Winning this fight puts me where Ruben Torres is now. Torres is mentioned as one of the country’s top emerging prospects and defeating him would level me up. Basically this fight is all I’ve worked for, and I don’t want all of my hard work to be wasted. Now is the time for me to take my career to new heights.

On his recent training camp.

“The camp was very intense and focused. I’m coming with him and I know what he has to offer, but he’ll have to face the fact that I’m in good shape for all eight rounds. I take this fight very seriously as I have been out of the ring for almost two years. I have invested in this camp with a lot of dedication and hard work. All the training and road work is finally over and I’m ready for the battle.

On the fights in Southern California on a Thompson Boxing Promotions card.
